Flagship Canon film SLR from the late 1970's, this particular Canon A-1 is clean and fully functional. Shutter fires accurately at all speeds, film advance, rewind and meter work properly (meter accuracy was not verified with film). Mirror release mechanism was lubricated and shutter is squeak-free. Battery door is intact and functional. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear of dust. Light seals were replaced with new foam and felt, original leatherette is in excellent shape. The camera comes with a Canon viewfinder eyecup and finger grip. The body of the camera shows moderate wear. Miscellaneous small scratches throughout, couple of small dents on the corners of the top cover. Bottom panel shows above average paint loss and brassing. Dial lettering is bright, movement is smooth. Please study the photos carefully - no returns based on cosmetics will be accepted on this camera. This A1 clearly went through some adventures in the past and is ready to serve its new owner for many more years. Camera strap and fresh battery are included.
Canon FD 35-70mm f/4.0 zoom lens that comes with this body is in very good condition. Glass appears free of scratches, no fungus or oil on aperture blades. The barrel has minor signs of wear, with some brassing and micro-scratches. Focusing is smooth and aperture action is snappy. The lens comes with UV filter and original Canon front cap.
This camera is equipped with a powerful Canon 199A flash unit. The body shows normal wear for the age. Battery compartment was cleaned off from old oxidation. Flash syncs and fires properly when used with the camera (requires 4xAA batteries - not included). Comes with its own dedicated leather case.
