MINOLTA XD11
Minolta XD11 Chrome / Black Cobra
Top-of-the-line Minolta film SLR of 1977, XD11 is a very capable and highly collectable camera. XD-series were beautifully built and loaded with advanced features, including shutter and aperture priority mode shooting and DOF preview. The camera was developed by Minolta in conjunction with Leica, and the body became the basis for the Leica R4. Full user manual is available here.
This XD11 is in excellent condition. A few shallow scratches on the bottom consistent with normal use and age of the camera, and one small dent on the top (rear corner next to the ASA dial). No brassing on painted surfaces. Shutter is smooth and quiet, fires accurately at all speeds, film transport and meter work properly. Self timer does NOT seem to work in this camera. Viewfinder is bright and clear from dust, both lens aperture window and shutter speed displays are functional. Light seals and mirror bumper were just replaced with fresh foam ($25 value). Original leatherette on this camera was professionally replaced with brand new genuine lambskin leather embossed in Black Cobra pattern - looks timeless.
The camera comes with two lenses. The lens mounted on the camera is Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 normal prime in EXC+ condition. Glass is blemish-free, no scratches or fungus. Aperture is snappy and blades are free from oil. Focusing is smooth. There is minor paint loss on the front rim, otherwise the barrel is in great shape. The lens is equipped with 55mm UV filter and brand new generic front cap. Second lens in this set is a J.C. Penney 80-200mm f/4.5 telephoto zoom. This lens is in excellent condition too and comes with both original caps. In addition to the lenses, working Vivitar 2600 power flash unit, genuine Minolta camera strap, camera case (average shape) and a set of fresh batteries for the meter are included. Great classic Minolta SLR set.
