MINOLTA XD5
Minolta XD5 Chrome / Red Ostrich
Advanced Minolta SLR from the late 1970's, XD5 shares a lot of design elements with Leica R4. Compared to the flagship model (XD11), just a few convenience features were omitted in this model by Minolta - visual indicators of shutter speed and aperture in the viewfinder, film advance indicator on the back panel. Mechanically and electronically, the two cameras are identical. XD5 also has aperture and shutter priority modes.
This particular unit is near mint, with very minimal signs of use. Shutter, film transport, self-timer and meter all work properly. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright, with just a few of tiny specs of dust. Brand new light seals and mirror bumper were installed. Original leatherette on this camera was professionally replaced with a beautiful bright Red Ostrich embossed genuine lambskin leather - looks amazing with a chrome body.
The camera comes with two excellent prime lenses: Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 50mm f/1.7 and RMC Tokina 28mm f/2.8 wide-angle. Both lenses have crystal-clear glass is clear, free of scratches and fungus. Focusing is smooth, aperture is snappy and blades are oil-free. Barrels don't have any dents or scuffs, all markings are bright and clear. 55mm Hoya Skylight filter, genuine vintage Minolta front cap for the 50mm lens; brand new generic front cap and Minolta rear cap for the 28mm lens are included. In addition to the lenses, this bundle also include powerful Minolta Auto 320X tilting flash unit in great shape, which works perfectly (needs 4xAA batteries - not provided). Finally, with fresh batteries for the meter and a vintage camera strap.NOT TESTED WITH FILM
