Another beautifully restored Minolta XD5, ready for your enjoyment. Co-developed with Leica, XD series cameras were revolutionary at the time and is still widely considered to among the best film cameras Minolta ever produced. They were the first Minoltas to feature automated shutter-priority mode. Little brother to the flagship XD11, XD5 is missing just a couple of convenience features of this thought-after camera, at significant savings. Both models share design elements with Leica R4 and are an excellent choice for a student or advanced film shooter.
Shutter, film transport and meter all work properly. Brand new light seals and mirror guard installed. NOTE: Self-timer is a bit sluggish in this camera, but should get better with consistent use.
Excellent. No dents or major areas of paint loss. There is a small crack in on one of the sides of the top cover - please see last photo) - no effect on camera function. A few small scratches on the bottom, consistent with age. Bright and clean lettering on the dials. Focusing screen and viewfinder are clear of dust. Original leatherette professionally replaced with genuine lambskin leather embossed in Caramel Lizard pattern.
- Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 prime lens. Clear glass, with no visible scratches or fungus. Aperture is snappy and blades are free from oil. Focusing is a little tight.
