Minolta XD5 Chrome / Red Alligator
Sharp, fully functional Minolta XD5 film SLR with new light seals and genuine Red Alligator-pattern leather skin. Co-developed with Leica, XD series cameras were revolutionary at the time and is still widely considered to among the best film cameras Minolta ever produced. They were the first Minolta SLRs to feature automated shutter-priority mode. "Little brother" to the flagship XD11, XD5 is missing just a couple of convenience features of this thought-after camera, in an arguably more robust package. Both models share design elements with Leica R4 and are perfect for a student or advanced film shooter. Bargain priced due to minor cosmetic blemishes.
Shutter, self-timer and film transport work properly. Meter is functional and appears accurate, but was not verified with film. Brand new light seals and mirror guard installed .
Very well preserved, with no dents or major cosmetic blemishes. Minor chrome pitting on top, around the dials. Some corrosion on the battery cap. Sharp legible lettering on the dials. Focusing screen and viewfinder are bright and dust-free. Original leatherette was professionally replaced with genuine pigskin leather embossed in Red Alligator pattern.
- Minolta MD Rokkor-X 45mm f/2 pancake lens in VG condition. Optics is mostly clear, with some internal dust and a few small cleaning marks on the front element (will not affect performance). Aperture is snappy, blades are oil-free. Focusing is smooth. The barrel shows average signs of use, a couple off small nicks and some paint paint loss on the front rim. Comes with new generic front cap.
