  • Pentax K1000 Chrome / Brown Alligator

Rare, early production (circa 1977) K1000 - fully restored and functional. Body of the camera is well preserved, with no significant dents or other blemishes. Minor shallow scratches on the bottom consistent with normal use, some brassing on the sides and painted areas of the film door and viewfinder frame. Couple of tiny nicks on top of the prism cover. Original leatherette was professionally replaced with custom genuine pigskin leather in Brown Alligator pattern. Shutter of the camera fires accurately at all speeds, film advance, rewind and meter all work properly. Meter accuracy was not verified with film, but seems to closely match in-house standard. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear. Light seals (including internal around the prism) were replaced ($25 value).

The camera comes with a clean copy of SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2.0 prime lens (made in Japan). Glass is clear, no visible scratches or fungus. Minor internal dust is visible, which is typical and does not affect the function or optical quality of the lens. Aperture blades are free from oil. Focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy. Barrel is clean and dent-free. The lens is equipped with a Skylight filter and genuine Pentax front cap. Second lens in this bundle is Asahi Takumar 135mm f/2.5 telephoto prime with built-in hood. The lens is in very good shape as well, with clear glass and no fungus. Minor oil is visible on the aperture, but doesn't seem to affect operation (aperture is snappy). This lens comes with Pentax front and rear cap, and a dedicated leather bag. Finally, working Sakar power flash unit, genuine leather camera strap, camera case (fair shape) and fresh battery for the meter are included.
