Rare, early production (circa 1978) K1000 - fully restored and functional. Body of the camera is well preserved, with no significant dents or other blemishes. Minor shallow scratches on the bottom consistent with normal use, minor brassing on the film door and viewfinder frame. Original leatherette was professionally replaced with custom genuine lambskin leather embossed in Red Ostrich pattern. Shutter of the camera fires accurately at all speeds, film advance, rewind and meter all work properly. Meter accuracy was not verified with film, but seems to closely match in-house standard. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear. Light seals (including internal around the prism) were replaced ($25 value).
The camera comes with a clean copy of SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2.0 prime lens (made in Japan). Glass is clear, no visible scratches or fungus. Minor internal dust is visible, which is typical and does not affect the function or optical quality of the lens. Aperture blades are free from oil. Focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy. Barrel is clean and dent-free. There is some paint loss on the aperture ring and front rim, but the threads are intact and filters mount fine. The lens is equipped with a Vivitar Skylight filter, collapsible hood and generic front cap. Second lens in this set is a CHINAR 28mm f/2.8 wide-angle prime. The lens is in very good shape as well, with no obvious blemishes on the glass or inside. Aperture is snappy. The barrel shows some wear, but the front rim is dent-free. This lens comes with Chinar front and rear cap. Genuine Pentax camera strap (will need a clean) and fresh battery for the meter are included with the camera. Perfect set for a photography student or vintage camera collector - cleanest cameras on eBay.
