Another restored Pentax K1000 SE from Halcyon Cameras. Only 1 in 10 of K1000's produced are "Special Edition". This version of the camera is equipped with a focusing screen that incorporates a split image rangefinder with a microprism collar, making it more convenient to use.
This particular camera is from the early production run, and originally had "SE" paper sticker on front. The sticker was lost, but body of the camera is clean and free from major dents or scuffs. There some brassing on the film door frame, and rewind knob. The camera was fully cleaned and lubricated inside and out and works great. Shutter fires accurately at all settings, film transport and meter work perfectly. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear from dust. The internal foam around the prism was replaced, new light seals and mirror bumper installed ($25 value). Original (brown) leatherette on this camera was professionally replaced with a genuine pigskin leather embossed in Navy Gragonskin pattern - very unique and pleasant to hold.
This body comes with SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2.0 normal prime lens, made in Japan. Optics of the lens are perfect, no visible scratches or fungus. Focusing works well, aperture action is snappy and blades are oil-free. Barrel shows moderate no signs of wear, with age-appropriate brassing and a few small nicks on the front rim. Metal screw-in front cap for the lens, vinatge camera strap and a fresh battery for the meter are included.
