Rare Pentax K1000 SE in original brown leather. This less common film SLR is superior to the "regular edition' of K1000, with easier-to-use split prism focusing screen. This particular unit is a seldom seen variety, with the "Special Edition" sticker on the front, instead of the "SE" engraving. This version was made early in the production run - still in Japan, before manufacturing was moved to Hong Kong. Just like with other Japan-made K1000's, serial number is engraved on the top panel, instead of later units (with serial # on the bottom of the camera).
This SLR has just been serviced and is in perfect functional condition. Shutter fires accurately, film advance, rewind and meter all work properly (meter accuracy was not verified with film). Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear. Light seals (including interior ones around the prism) and mirror bumper were replaced ($25 value). Body is very well preserved, with just a bit of paint loss on the film door edges, and minor chrome pitting on the top - not noticeable in normal use. No dents anywhere, lettering on the dials is bright. "SE" sticker on the front is worn out, but is still present. Fresh battery for the meter and original grey Pentax camera strap are included.
This camera comes with two compact prime lenses: SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2.0 and Hanimex 28mm f/2.8. Both lenses are in close-to-mint condition. No visible scratches on the glass or fungus, aperture blades are free from oil. Focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy. We also include original Asahi Pentax front cap, front and rear caps for the wide-angle lens (generic) and a 49mm Hanimex Skylight filter that fits both lenses. Outstanding classic camera for your collection.
