Amazing set, rarely available version of Pentax K1000. One of the most famous and popular film cameras, Pentax K1000 had a very long production run which began in 1976 and ended in 1990's. Asahi Pentax moved production from Japan to Hong Kong after only first two years. Even though no major changes were made at that time, cameras made in the first two years in Japan are scarce and highly collectable. Latest version of the camera (without Asahi logo on the top cover) was manufactured in China and shows cost-cutting by Pentax, with many metal parts replaced with plastic. Even though not all Japan-made K1000's have a mark on the body to indicate production origin, they all have serial number engraved on top of the camera (as opposed to the bottom panel in later units).
This particular body was made in Japan and is in MINT condition. No scratches, dents or paint loss anywhere - please see photos. Shutter seems to fire accurately at all speeds, film advance, rewind and meter work properly (meter accuracy was not verified). Viewfinder and focusing screen are pristine. Light seals were just replaced with fresh foam for years of flawless service ($25 value). Fresh battery for the meter and a bright vintage camera strap are included.
The camera comes with three lenses: original Pentax-M 55mm f/2.0 standard prime lens, Promaster MC 80-205mm f/3.8 telephoto zoom and Inado 2x teleconverter. All three lenses are made in Japan. Lens glass is in excellent condition, no visible scratches or fungus, just minor internal dust in the 55mm lens (normal). Aperture blades are free from oil. Focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy. Barrels are clean and scratch-free, with just a small amount of brassing. The standard prime lens comes with three 52m filters - Skylight, 2x ND3 and Polarizer, as well as a generic front cap. Zoom lens comes with a UV filter and both caps. Teleconverter comes with both rear and front cap (same as the camera body cap), in its own mini-case.
