PENTAX K1000
Pentax K1000 SE Chrome / Brown leather
Another rare copy of Pentax K1000. This version was produced in 1978 and has an "SE" sticker on front of the camera, indicating that this is a "special edition" camera. Unlike a regular K1000, this version is equipped with a focusing screen that incorporates a split image rangefinder with a microprism collar, making it more convenient to use. Most of the earlier SE's were produced with a brown leatherette cover, such as in this camera. In later copies, the "SE" sticker was replaced with engraved lettering.
The body of this unit is in close-to-mint condition - no brassing, dents or major scratches anywhere. The camera was fully cleaned and lubricated inside and out. Shutter fires accurately, film transport and meter work perfectly. Viewfinder and focusing screen are bright and clear of dust. Light seals (including internal, around the prism) and mirror bumper were just replaced. The camera is equipped with a fast SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 standard prime lens in excellent condition (made in Japan). Glass is clear, no visible scratches or fungus. Focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy and blades are oil-free. Barrel shows practically no signs of wear. The lens comes with an original Asahi Pentax front cap. We also include a rare Pentax Skylight filter, genuine Asahi Pentax camera case, fresh battery for the meter and a vintage camera strap.
