Early copy of Pentax K1000 film SLR, freshly serviced and fully functional. Asahi Pentax used facilities in Japan, Hong Kong and China to manufacture this model from 1975 to ~1990. Factory in Japan was used only during the first two years of production, making cameras made at that time highly collectable. This particular camera was made in 1976, and has a serial number engraved on the top of the body (as opposed to the bottom in later units produced in Hong Kong). Great camera for a beginner film shooter or a collector.
Shutter, meter, film transport all work properly. Brand new seals (including internal, around the prism) and mirror guard installed.
Excellent, minimal brassing on the film door and sides, no dents or major scratches. Bright and clean lettering on the shutter speed dial. Pristine focusing screen and viewfinder. Original leatherette is in very good condition.
- Pentax-M 50mm f/2.0 prime lens (made in Japan). The lens is in good shape. Front element has a few shallow scratches from prior cleaning, which should have no effect on the lens optical performance. There are traces of oil on the underside of the aperture blades, but the aperture is snappy and closes properly. Focusing is smooth. The barrel of the lens shows average wear. Some small scuffs on the front rim makes mounting of the filters a bit tight, but possible. Hoya UV filter, circular polarizer and generic front cap are included.
- Two other prime lenses are included FREE with this camera: Focal 28mm f/2.8 wide-angle and Chinar 135mm f/2.8 portrait/telephoto. The lenses appear in good optical and cosmetic condition, but were not tested.
- Vintage camera strap and original Pentax camera manual (fair shape).
- A fresh battery for the meter.
