PENTAX KM
Pentax KM Chrome
Pentax KM was introduced in 1975 as one of the earliest Pentax models, featuring K-bayonet mount. This camera is very similar to the Pentax K1000, but adds depth-of-field preview and a self-timer; two features missing on this popular cheaper model. Just like K1000, this is a great camera for a photography student. Unlike most K1000's, KM was produced in Japan.
This particular SLR is in absolute MINT condition, practically brand new, one of the cleanest cameras we ever had available. Shutter fires accurately at all speeds, self timer, film advance, rewind and meter work properly (meter accuracy was not verified). The camera was just professionally serviced. This particular model is known for prism de-silvering ("corrosion"), but NOT IN THIS UNIT - old foam surrounding the prism was cleaned off and replaced, and will not de-silver the prism. Viewfinder and focusing screen are pristine, a pleasure to look through. Light seals and mirror guard are brand new. No dents or brassing on the body whatsoever, paint on the door frame is nice and glossy, lettering on the dials is bright. Original leatherette is in excellent condition.
The camera comes with an Pentax SMC 55mm f/1.8 prime lens in equally outstanding condition. The glass is crystal clear, with no scratches or fungus, focusing is smooth, aperture action is snappy and blades are free from oil. Barrel shows no signs of use. The camera comes with a quality UV filter and excellent collapsible lens hood, genuine Asahi Pentax camera strap and a fresh battery for the meter. Much less common than your typical Pentax K1000, don't miss your chance to own this wonderful classic - you will not find one cleaner.NOT TESTED WITH FILM
