One of the rarest and most unique RICOH film cameras. Was designed to utilize unique batteries rechargeable by built-in solar panels! Those batteries are no longer available, but the camera will work perfectly fine using regular LR44's. Shutter fires accurately at all speeds, film transport, self-timer and meter all work properly. Viewfinder is clear with just a few tiny specs of dust in the field of view, which will not affect photos. This camera was refinished in Black Ostrich leatherette and light seals were replaced. This particular unit comes with a genuine Ricoh camera strap and rare Ricoh XR-S case, made specifically for this camera. The case has clear cutouts that allow camera's solar elements to be exposed to the sun, even when in the case. The camera is equipped with a mint copy of Rikenon 50mm f/2.0 lens, but will accept any PK-mount lens. Lens glass is clear and free of scratches. All rings rotate smoothly. Aperture blades are oil-free and work properly. In addition to the standard prime, we incude two additional lenses: Sears 28mm wideangle and Focal 70-200mm compact zoom. These two lenses were not tested, but appear to have clean, scratch-free and fungus free glass. Wideangle lens comes with its own mini-case. Great set, rarely available.
