One of the most popular Yashica film cameras of pre-Kyocera days, FR I is built for semi-pro use. Robust construction, aperture-priority shooting, full range of manual shutter speeds, exposure compensation, built-in self-timer. C/Y lens mount, compatible with Carl Zeiss, Yashica and third party lenses.

 

FUNCTION

Shutter, film transport, timer all work properly. Meter responds to light and camera settings, but accuracy was not verified with film. Brand new seals and mirror guard installed for years of trouble-free operation.
 

COSMETICS

Very good. Some brassing (mostly near strap lugs and on the bottom) and small scratches throughout, consistent with normal use and age (see photos). Bright and clean lettering on the dials. Focusing screen and viewfinder are bright, with just a couple of tiny specs of dust (no effect on function). Original leatherette is in very good condition.

• Yashica ML 50mm f/2 prime lens. EXC+ condition, clear glass, no scratches or fungus, just minor internal dust (will have no effect on performance). Aperture is snappy and blades are oil-free. Focusing is smooth. The barrel of the lens shows minimal signs of use. Generic front cap is included.
• Vintage camera strap, a roll of B&W film (expired, use at your own risk!) and a fresh battery.
