Rare black-body Yashica FX-103 Program in excellent condition. Made in Japan, great ergonomic alternative to a bulkier Pentax K1000 as a student or beginner film camera. FX-103 is a successor to a very popular FX-D, very similar to that camera, with a few useful additional features incorporated. Just like FX-D, very underrated, easy-to-use camera, perfect for a beginner or a student photographer. Metal leaf shutter, full range of manual shutter speeds with bright and easy-to-read LED exposure scale in the viewfinder, aperture priority mode, two program modes, exposure lock, timer - this little camera has everything you will ever need to enjoy shooting film. In addition to Yashica branded glass, Contax and Carl Zeiss lenses can also be mounted on this camera, which makes it attractive cost-effective alternative to Contax bodies.
This particular black-body camera is very well preserved - no scratches or dents of any kind. Lettering on the dials is intact. Shutter fires properly at all speeds, film transport, timer and meter all work properly. Viewfinder and focusing screen are dust-free and bright. Original cover was professionally replaced with brand new pigskin leather embossed with a Black Alligator pattern. Light seals and mirror guard were replaced as well ($25 value). Fresh batteries for the meter, genuine Yashica viewfinder cup and camera strap are included.
The camera comes with Yashica ML 50mm f/1.9 normal prime lens. Excellent construction, sharp lens, sometimes compared to Carl Zeiss equivalent in optical quality. Lens optics are clean and clear, no fungus or scratches. Aperture is free from oil and functions properly. The barrel shows no major signs of use. Generic front cap, Skylight filter and collapsible lens hood are included. Very clean.
