Yashica FX-D Black / Black Frosted Snake
Another restored Yashica FX-D. Arguably the best compact SLR in Yashica FX series, sharing many features with Contax 139 - excellent full-featured alternative to more bulky cameras often recommended for photography students. Very ergonomic with aperture-priority shooting, full range of manual shutter speeds, exposure lock and self-timer. Like other FX- series Yashicas, this SLR is equipped with a robust metal-leaf quartz-controlled Copal shutter and C/Y lens mount, which allows it to be used with used with a wide range of high quality Carl Zeiss, Contax, Yashica and third party lenses. Seriously under-rated camera, made in Japan. This particular camera was just professionally restored with new light seals and genuine suede cover.
Shutter, meter, film transport, timer all work properly. Brand new seals and mirror guard installed for years of trouble-free operation ($25 value).
Excellent. Clean overall, no dents or major scratches. Some brassing, mostly on the bottom of the camera and near strap lugs. Bright and clear lettering on the dials. Focusing screen and viewfinder are dust-free. Original leatherette was replaced with genuine suede featuring Black Frosted Snake pattern - a pleasure to hold and look at at.
- Yashica ML 50mm f/2.0 lens (made in Japan). EXC+ condition, clear glass, no scratches or fungus, just minor internal dust (normal, and will not affect performance). Aperture is snappy and blades are oil-free. Focusing is smooth. The barrel of the lens shows minimal signs of use. Great prime lens, excellent optically - often compared to Carl Zeiss equivalent. Hoya UV filter and a generic front cap are included.
- Promaster FA100 compact flash in very good cosmetic and functional condition (batteries not included). Vintage camera strap and a set of fresh batteries for the camera.
