Here are the questions we are most frequently being asked:
Can you repair my camera as part of your service?
Our expertise is limited to cosmetic restoration only. We may be able to reset your stuck shutter in some cases, and lubricate Canon's mirror escape mechanism to eliminate "squeaking" shutter sound. However, all cameras for sale on this website were bench-tested to the best of our ability and no functional defects were found, unless specifically stated otherwise. If you are looking for a more advanced repair service, please find a reputable facility with experience in repairing film SLRs.
How do you test your cameras?
We test all camera functions - mechanics (film advance and rewind function), light meter and shutter at all speeds by ear. We dont have the equipment to calibrate or adjust the light meter or shutter. Unless specifically stated, the cameras for sale were NOT tested with film.
Can you re-skin my own camera?
Yes, please email us for a custom quote. Typical cost (using one of the leather options in stock) is $45 per camera, plus $15 return shipping. If the new skin is installed simultaneously with light seal replacement, the total cost is only $99 including shipping back. Once the camera is received by us, restoration is typically performed within 5 business days.
What is the cost to replace the light seals only?
For most cameras, the cost to replace the light seals is $75, return shipping included. This includes removal of all worn out, sticky seals in the door groves and the door of the film chamber, and installation of new foam and/or felt seals in original locations. We ask for your explicit approval to replace mirror guard foam. While we have considerable experience doing this successfully, immediate proximity of the focusing screen inevitably increases the risk of contamination.

What king of warranty do you provide?
Our cameras are warrantied for 30 days against cosmetic defects only (i.e. leather skin peeling under normal use condtions). Please keep in mind that most cameras in our stock are 30-40 years old, meticulously restored to the best of our ability. They may have been acquired by us with minor pre-existing cosmetic defects (i.e. small scratches on the bottom and/or top covers and corners, minor loss of paint on the film chamber door frame, etc). In our opinion, this is part of the unique history and character of each camera we restore. While we guarrantee that your camera will arrive exactly as described on our site, we are unable to provide warranty against future functional defects and malfunctions.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we only ship within USA, sorry.
How long does shipping take?
Cameras in stock will ship within two working days. Most orders are shipped using USPS Priority Mail service and will reach you within two-three business days.
What is the cost of shipping?
We will ship your purchase free of charge (within USA only). Should you choose to return your non-defective camera, $15 will be retained by Halcyon to recover shipping costs.
What is your returns policy?

Do you refund?
In case of a workmanship defect (skin peeling, light seals coming off, etc), we will either repair it free of charge or issue a full refund for your purchase, as soon as the camera is shipped back to us. If you simply changed your mind and would like to return your camera, please ship it back to us in original condition within 15 days of purchase. In this case, $15 will be retained by Halcyon to cover our shipping costs. Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment only.
