Konica TC Black Alligator

  • Konica Autoreflex TC

One-of-a-kind customized Konica Autoreflex TC with a scarce Hexanon 28mm wide-angle lens, in near-mint condition. This camera was produced from 1976 to 1983. Simple to use, robust camera with Copal metal focal plane shutter and basic features - TC is perfect for a beginner film photographer. Konica's Hexanon lenses are known for their high optical quality and beautiful color rendition and great with B&W film - one of the best of the period. Full manual available at Butkus.org. NOTE: this camera was designed to use 1.3V mercury batteries (PX 625), which are no longer available. Regular 1.5V silver or alkaline cells can be used as a substitute, but ASA will need to be adjusted to compensate for the voltage difference. Shutter is fully mechanical, and will operate without batteries.

    FUNCTION
Shutter, self-timer and film transport work properly. Meter appears to be active and respond to light with alkaline batteries, but accuracy has not been verified with film. Brand new light seals were installed ($29 value).

    COSMETICS
Near-MINT. No dents or other major blemishes. Just a touch of brassing on the film door frame. Lettering on the dials is bright and legible. Focusing screen and viewfinder are mostly clear, with just a few tiny specs of dust, which will not interfere with shooting. Original leatherette has been replaced with a genuine pigskin leather cover embossed in Black Alligator pattern.
