Minolta XD5 Chrome / Pink Alligator
Here is something you don't see everyday! This one-of-a-kind, cheerful Minolta XD5 film SLR has been refinished in vivid Pink Alligator-pattern leather and will bring a smile to your face every time you pick it up. Co-developed with Leica, XD series cameras were revolutionary at the time and is still widely considered to among the best film cameras Minolta ever produced. They were the first Minolta SLRs to feature automated shutter-priority mode. "Little brother" to the flagship XD11, XD5 is missing just a couple of convenience features of this thought-after camera, in an arguably more robust package. Both models share design elements with Leica R4 and are perfect for a student or advanced film shooter.
Shutter and film transport work perfectly. Self-timer works but a bit sluggish to return. Meter responds to light, camera settings and appears accurate (was not verified with film). Brand new light seals and mirror guard installed.
EXC+. No dents or other major cosmetic blemishes. Tiny bit of brassing on the door hinge. Lettering on the dials is vivid and legible. Focusing screen and viewfinder are bright and dust-free. Original leatherette was professionally replaced with genuine pigskin leather embossed with Pink Alligator pattern.
- Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 prime lens. EXC++ condition, clear, scratch-free glass, no fungus or haze. Aperture is snappy, blades are oil-free. Focusing is smooth. The barrel shows minimal wear, just one tiny scuff on the front rim (filter threads are still working fine). Comes with a vintage Minolta front cap and CPC Skylight filter.
- Set of fresh batteries.
